OurCheckList Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 November 2026 · Applies to OurCheckList for iPhone, iPad and Mac

OurCheckList is published by Juvex Oy, Finland. The short version: the app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your lists are stored in your own iCloud account and shared only with the people you send a link to. Juvex has no server for the app and can’t see your lists.

Where your lists are stored

Templates, lists, items and ticks are stored on your devices and in your iCloud account, using Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit). Templates stay private to you. Apple stores and processes this data under Apple’s privacy policy; item names, notes and other text you type are stored in iCloud’s encrypted fields, which are end-to-end encrypted when you have turned on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud.

What the people you share with see

When you send a list’s link, everyone who opens it can see the list, its items and its history: who ticked or unticked each item and when. To show who did what, the app shows the name of each person’s iCloud account as Apple provides it to the members of a shared list, and, if they typed one in Settings, the name they chose to show next to their ticks. Anyone who has a link can open the list, so send it only to people you want to have it.

The owner of a list can see who has joined, remove people and reset a link so the old one stops working. Anyone can leave a list. When the owner deletes a list, it is deleted for everyone.

What is stored on your device

Deleting the app removes this copy; your lists remain in iCloud until you delete them in the app.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app tells you when someone ticks an item on a shared list. Apple’s iCloud wakes the app with a push that contains no list content; the app then fetches the change from iCloud and shows the notification itself, on your device. Nothing passes through Juvex.

Files you import or export

The app reads a text or CSV file only when you pick one to import, and writes one only when you export a list to a place you choose. Nothing is sent anywhere.

What Juvex receives

Nothing. The app sends no data to Juvex or to any third party besides Apple’s iCloud, and contains no analytics or advertising code. If you send us a crash report or feedback through the App Store or TestFlight, Apple shares it with us and we use it only to fix and improve the app.

In-app purchase

OurCheckList Unlimited is bought through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment; the app only learns from the App Store whether the purchase is active on your Apple Account, and Juvex receives no information that identifies you.

Children

The app is not directed at children and Juvex collects no data from anyone.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions about privacy: see Juvex Oy’s contact details.
